Abstract

The Indian telecom sector stands as a cornerstone of the country’s infrastructure, playing an essential role in facilitating a wide range of communication services, including voice calls, mobile data, internet connectivity, and broadcasting. Encompassing both wired and wireless technologies, this sector forms the backbone of India’s digital economy and underpins the country’s growing reliance on information and communication technologies. What began as a state-dominated service with limited outreach has now evolved into one of the largest and most dynamic telecom markets in the world, supported by an extensive and competitive ecosystem comprising telecom service providers, regulatory bodies, infrastructure developers, equipment manufacturers, software innovators, and digital content providers.
